Each piece by Jennifer Domal begins with a single eggshell and a vision. Through the ancient art of batik - layers of melted beeswax and carefully applied dye - a unique artwork emerges that can never be exactly replicated.
A commissioned piece means that vision is yours from the very start.
What You Can Commission
Commissions are available on a variety of eggshells including ostrich, emu, rhea, goose, Guinea hen, and quail. You may bring inspiration from textiles, architecture, family heritage, your favorite color palettes and traditions that are meaningful to you. Jennifer will work with you to translate that inspiration into a design that honors both your vision and her distinctive artistic process.
How It Works
Reach out: Use the contact form to describe your idea, color palette and any inspiration images you would like to share.
Consultation: Jennifer will follow up within 5-7 business days to discuss the concept, shell size, and timeline.
Deposit: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to begin work. The remaining is due upon completion before shipping of the finished artwork.
Creation: Depending on the complexity, size, and availability of the shell chosen, a commission may take 6 to 12 weeks during show season.
Delivery: Your finished artwork will be carefully packaged and shipped to the chosen address or if selected, local pickup is available in the West Chester, PA area.
Pricing
Commission pricing varies based on shell size and design complexity. Pieces generally range from $175 to $500 and above. A detailed quote will be proved during the consultation.
